John/Jigsaw’s (Tobin Bell "Saw") latest escapade focuses on
William (Peter Outerbridge " Lucky Number S7evin"), an insurance company executive and the
man who personally declined John the coverage necessary to find a cure
for his cancer. So William finds himself at the center
of a series of death traps requiring him to decide whether someone else
will survive or die. He can hide behind his desk when it comes to
insurance, but in Jigsaw’s world, William must suffer the consequences
of his actions and watch the denied perish. Carrying out John’s dying wishes is Detective Hoffman (Costas
Mandylor "Toxic") who has to keep an eye on the FBI agents who are getting dangerously
close to uncovering his secret.
Not only are the
blood and guts flowing but the methods that unleash them will make you
cringe. The brutality and gore shown in the Saw movies is
nothing new, but what makes the series so succesful is
the mind-boggling mental element. Although Saw VI, directed by Kevin Greutert ("Old Friends")is far from perfect and not nearly as good as the first
film in the series, but if you like this kind of grisly horror movie and you have
a thirst for mutilation and watching victims ripped limb-from-limb, cut in half and their insides
spilled out onto the floor, you won't want to miss it.
