Love Me If You Dare
As adults, best friends Julien (Guillaume Canet) and Sophie (Marion Cotillard) continue the odd game they started as eight-year-olds; a fearless competition to outdo one another with daring and outrageous stunts. While they often act out to relieve one another's pain, their game might be a way to avoid the fact that they are truly meant for one another.
This movie directed by Yann Samuell is a whimsical fantasy about escape, about the will to play, and then not being unhappy, at any cost. In the film we learn that for Julien this destructive game of one-upmanship is his drug, and this surreal fairy tale, from its beginning to its touching ending, is also about this dependency.
