Treasure Planet
Set way in the future, Jim Hawkins (voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a reckless thrill seeking teen ager who's life consists of helping his mother (voiced by Laurie Metcalf) clear tables at her small waystation for weary space travelers - the Benbow Inn. When an alien crash-lands outside the diner he gives Jim a treasure just before he dies. With the map is a warning: "Beware the cyborg." Nevertheless, Jim, and his dog-like friend Dr. Delbert Doppler (David Hyde Pierce) set out to find the treasure. First he signs on as a cabin boy on the space schooner Legacy, where, he befriends the ship's cook, John Silver (Brian Murray) a charismatic cyborg with a swiss army knife for a leg and a protoplasmic pet named Morph. Silver takes a liking to the young boy becoming the father figure that Jim never had. But just as the bond between these two is becoming stronger, Jim discovers that Silver is planning a mutiny so that he can get the treasure for himself. Feeling betrayed, Jim along with with Doppler, Morph, and the Legacy's feline captain (Emma Thompson) head to Treasure Planet. There, they meet an old robot named B.E.N. (Martin Short), who's still operational after 100 years, although he's clearly got a few screws loose. Silver and his ragged band of mutineers are hot on their trail and this eventually leads to a confrontation where Jim and Silver are forced to choose between their friendship and the fulfillment of their dreams.
