Freddy vs. Jason
The premise has Freddy unable to return to Elm Street from the dark dreamscape he inhabits because none of the children there know he exists. To get back his reputation, Freddy brings Jason, the mute serial killer of Crystal Lake, back from the grave, and sets him loose against the teens of Elm Street. When kids begin dying in ridiculously graphic ways, the Elm Street authorities decide that Freddy must be back in town. As fear spreads, Freddy regains his ability to kill the sleeping children of Elm Street. His only problem seems to be that Jason can't be stopped, and so the two of them must compete for the same limited pool of Elm Street teens. The film climaxes in two long battles between the title villains. Nicely directed by legendary Hong Kong action filmmaker Ronny Yu ("Bride of Chucky"), "Freddy vs. Jason" is a feast for hardcore fans of either character, and it's sure to develop a new generation of goreheads.
