Minority Report
Based on a story by Philip K. Dick who wrote "Blade Runner," this is a gripping thriller full of intriguing characters, inventive visuals, adrenaline-charged action and plot twists you never see coming. Only Steven Spielberg could make a story so engaging, creepy, and utterly satisfying at the same time. It's the year 2054 and in Washington DC, there hasn't been a murder for six years. That's because of the success of a novel program which identifies future killers and stops them before they can commit their evil deeds. The head cop is Anderton (Cruise), whose DA father-in-law (Max Von Sydow) is basking in the glory of the program's success. But before it can go national, an investigator (Colin Farrell) shows up to see how it works. Then things go awry for Anderton when he is named as a future murderer. So he goes on the run with one of the precog analysts (Samantha Morton) to prove his innocence. This is an exhilarating futuristic noir thriller, which mixes the best of screen technology with a riveting, pulse intensifying escapist adventure of the first magnitude.
