Jeepers Creepers 2
Every 23rd spring, for 23 days, the bat-winged, razor-taloned cross between Freddy Krueger and a pterodactyl, has to eatÖ It's day 22 and the hungry fellow is salivating for fresh meat, since it's been more than 23 months since his last feast. While Jeepers Creepers 1 focused on just a brother and sister who had to fight the beast, this sequel has a whole passel of high school basketball players, cheerleaders and adults for him to feast upon on the farm where they're stranded. There's also a half-mad farmer whose younger son was ripped away from his cornfield by the creature in the pictureís opening, and who is obsessively tracking it down for revenge. While you got to know the siblings and care whether they survived in the first picture, this time there are so many young people that they are basically indistinguishable. Writer/Director Victor Salva has assigned each of them just one or two characteristics and doesít spend enough time on any one of them to make you care whether they live or die. As a result the sole reason that you keep watching is to watch the various ways the Creeper disposes of his victims. Jeepers Creepers 2 isnít terrible, just mediocre. It has a few decent shocks and a few funny moments, though itís never truly terrifying or more than occasionally funny.
