The Onassis Cultural Center NY
explores Hellenic culture through a rich
and diverse program of free exhibitions, events and online engagement.
Located in Olympic Tower in Midtown Manhattan, the newly renovated
creative space offers experiences that inspire and support the
interaction between artists and audiences in all cultural fields from
visual art, literature, music, dance, theater, film and the humanities.
Programs and exhibitions– from scholarly academic to those designed for
families, novices or experts – are presented free of charge to make the
experience accessible to all.
An extensive program of public events –conversations, concerts,
lectures, readings, symposia, theatrical performances, films and
documentaries - introduces important new and established talent from
Greece and creates opportunities for collaboration between artists,
writers and scholars from Greece and the United States.
With a renewed emphasis on the present, the Onassis Cultural Center New
York showcases the work of established, emerging and newly discovered
artists from Greece and beyond. Premiering in fall 2015, The Art Wall
will exhibit specially commissioned works by contemporary artists in the renovated Olympic Tower public atrium.
In collaboration with museums, curators and scholars from around the
world, the Onassis Cultural Center New York produces critically
acclaimed archeological exhibitions, often featuring treasures never
before shown in the United States.
