Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum
Both a New York City and a National Landmark, Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum is home to one of the most beautifully situated historic houses in the city. The museum welcomes thousands of visitors each year for guided and group tours, education programs for children, garden strolls and trail hikes, and a variety of special events.

Guided Mansion and Carriage House Tours

Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, 12 noon - 4 p.m.

For groups of ten or more, tours must be scheduled in advance outside of public hours.  The museum is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

What was it like to be female in19th-century America? Explore the diverse lives of women and girls—from household servants to society ladies—through artwork, clothing, books, decorative arts, domestic items, and more.

Gaston Lachaise Peacocks

The agricultural industrialist James Deering commissioned Gaston Lachaise (1882-1935) to create the short-tailed peacock in 1920 for Vizcaya, his country estate south of Miami. Architect Philip Goodwin commissioned the long-tailed peacock in 1928 for a fountain at his estate in Syosset, Long Island.
 

The Treaty Oak - From Parks to Pells

An exhibition that explores the history of the Pelham Bay Park, including four centuries and four distinct periods of the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum.

Cookies and Crafts

Drop in with your young ones to decorate some holiday cookies to take home after exploring the mansion decked out for the season. Recommended for ages 4 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult   Registration requested
